servers and storage systems, resulting in duplicated bandwidth (link
aggregation), load distribution (LACP) and – in the event of an error
– low switching times. The network design determines the selection
and positioning of the devices. NETGEAR XCM8800, XSM7224S and
GSM7xxx(P)S switches can be positioned in either the central area
or the access area. The XCM8800 Series utilizes a modular design
for a flexible, customized solution. The XSM7224S and GSM7xxx(P)
S can be operated as single devices or in a stack. Redundancy and
availability are provided through a combination of duplicated physical
connections, in addition to functions such as dynamic Routing Protocols
(RIP, OSPF), VRRP, Rapid Spanning Tree and Link Aggregation.
Investment protection is ensured with the IPv6 implementation.
Added Value:
Convergence a standardized Ethernet infrastructure for different
applications reduces costs and administrative effort.
High availability and automated failover business-critical applications
are continuously available, for maximum operational efficiency.
High performance –10 gigabit connection speeds quickly transfer large
volumes of data.
Mobility
ProSafe Wireless LAN Access Points (WNDAP350, WNDAP360,
WNAP320) are connected to the data network via Power over Ethernet
Switches (GSM72xxPS). All access points are centrally administrated by a
single WC7520 WLAN Controller, enabling simultaneous implementation
of security policies across the system. Captive Portal provides guests with
separate wireless access from the company network.
Added Value:
Mobility support and faster, more flexible access to business resources.
Work processes are accelerated and optimized.
Mobile end user devices such as smartphones and notebooks can
directly, securely access the Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP).
Strong encryption protects private corporate data.
Storage
ReadyNAS storage systems are used as file servers or backup media for
servers and PC clients. The ReadyNAS 4200 is integrated in the Active
Directory at the head office and controls each user’s access rights to
the individual shares. The storage unit at the head office provides up
to 24 TB of storage capacity for data, images and video. Additional
ReadyNAS systems are installed at the branch office and home office.
Data synchronization between the branch office, head office and home
office takes place regularly using the ReadyNAS Replicate function as
a backup job controlled by the ReadyNAS. Using the rsync protocol,
incremental backups are performed to minimize required bandwidth,
and different versions of the data can be created. This entire setup,
known as ReadyNAS Replicate, runs as a service on the respective
ReadyNAS system.
Added Value:
Disk backup systems (NAS or iSCSI SAN) are more readily available in
the disaster recovery process than conventional tape systems.
They have scalable storage capacity and employ X-RAID™ technology
for dynamic capacity extension.
They support a wide range of client operating systems.
ReadyNAS Replicate automates the data backup process.
