WG102-500, WGAP150 ProSafe™ 802.11g Wireless Access Point
Configuring Wireless Bridging and Repeating
The wireless access point supports a wireless distributing system (WDS) that lets you build
large bridged wireless networks. Examples of wireless bridged configurations are:
Point-to-point bridge. The wireless access point communicates with another
bridge-mode wireless access point. See
“Configuring Point-to-Point Bridge Mode” on
page 104.
Multi-point bridge. The wireless access point is the “master” for a group of bridge-mode
wireless access points. Then all traffic is sent to this “master,” rather than to the other
wireless access points. See
“Configuring Point to Multi-Point Bridge Mode” on page 106.
Repeater. The wireless access point sends all traffic to the remote AP. See “Configuring
Repeater Mode” on page 108.
To configure a wireless distributing system:
1. Log in to the wireless access point at its default LAN address of http://192.168.0.229
with its default user name of admin and default password of password, or using
whatever LAN address, user name, and password you have chosen for the wireless
access point.
2. Select Configuration > WDS. The WDS screen displays.
The Basic Settings section of the screen shows the AP name that you configured in
“Configuring Basic System Settings” on page 19 and the wireless access point’s MAC
address.
3. In the Basic Settings section of the screen, the Name and MAC Address of the access point
are displayed. You configure the wireless distribution system. You can add up to four WDS
