Configuring Neighbor AP Discovery
The Neighbor AP Discovery feature lets the wireless access point automatically register
other wireless devices in its area and includes these devices in the Neighbor APs List (see
“Viewing Neighbor APs Information” on page 76).
To configure the Neighbor AP Discovery feature:
1. Log in to the wireless access point at its default LAN address of http://192.168.0.229
with its default user name of admin and default password of password, or using
whatever LAN address, user name, and password you have chosen for the wireless
access point.
2. Select Configuration > Advanced > Neighbor AP. The Neighbor AP screen display (see
Figure 5-4 on page 101).
3. Specify the neighbor AP settings as explained in Table 5-3.

Field Description
Neighbor AP Discovery By default, the wireless access point automatically discovers other wireless
devices in its area. Deselect the Enable checkbox to disable the Neighbor
AP Discovery feature.
Scanning Interval The frequency in seconds that the wireless access point scans the
channels to discover neighboring APs. The default setting is 10 seconds.
Scanning Time The time in milliseconds that the wireless access point scans a channel to
discover neighboring APs. The default setting is 50 milliseconds.
4. Click Save or Save to Flash & Activate to save your settings.
