To add a new WAN connection:

2. Enter or select the ATM PVC settings that are explained in the following table. Your ISP will

advise you which settings to use.

Setting Description

VPI The virtual path identifier specifies the virtual path between endpoints in an ATM

network. The valid range is from 0 to 255.

VCI The virtual channel identifier) specifies the virtual channel between endpoints in an

ATM network. The valid range is from 32 to 65535 (1 to 31 is reserved for well-

known protocols)

Service Category The size and rate for the packets of the data is different, depending on the service

type. UBR without peak cell rate (PCR) is the default setting.Your ISP will advise

you which service category to select from the drop-down list:

• UBR Without PCR. Unspecified bit rate without peak cell rate.

• UBR With PCR. Unspecified bit rate with peak cell rate.

• CBR. Constant bit rate.

• Non Realtine VBR. Variable bit rate for non real-time applications.

• Realtime VBR. Variable bit rate for real-time applications.
