TCP/IP Conﬁguration

This chapter describes how to conﬁgure your Model RT328/RH348 router for TCP/IP. Depending

on your particular applications, you must conﬁgure different menus. For instance, Internet access

is the most common application of TCP/IP. For this application, you should conﬁgure Menu 4.

Conﬁgurations for other applications are provided in the following sections.

LAN-to-LAN Application

An example of a typical LAN-to-LAN application is to use the router to call from a branch ofﬁce

to the headquarters, as shown in Figure 7-1.

For the branch ofﬁce, you must conﬁgure a remote node in order to dial out to the headquarters.

Additionally, you may also need to conﬁgure static routes if some services reside beyond the

immediate remote LAN.
